You can help by not removing bulrushes or educating others not to remove. Volunteers worked hard to transplant them along the shores and of course they help clean the river and provide habitat for our swans nesting.
If you share our fervent desire to improve the water quality in Lake Victoria you can help by becoming a member. By joining you give AREA moral and financial support.
You may not believe this ,but planting bulrushes in the lake is an amazingly difficult, complicated, and protracted task. AREA definitely needs continuing support. The ten dollar membership fee and optional donations provide us with cash which defrays the considerable expenses of postage, website maintenance, water samples, and presentation materials.
A donation is always warmly welcomed!
From time to time AREA requests volunteers to do planting; this is always very muddy, a lot of fun, but never compulsory.
Please join AREA in its quest for clean water.
The following people will be glad to sign you up:
Alan Carr, president.
Tony Massey, secretary.
Ron Holman, treasurer.
AREA and Lake Victoria thank you.
